In addition to my studio art work, I also enjoy some basic woodworking and occasional sewing projects.
Console Table
My latest project is this table for use as we comes/go to the barbecue. I bought a remnant slab of granite and had it cut to my desired size. I originally just made the top portion but then the table looked too leggy so I made the lower shelf by joining pieces of maple. (My dad made the mirror.)
Costco-Sized Kleenex Box Cover
Kleenex boxes from Costco (and presumably other membership warehouse clubs) are larger than the average size and therefore do not fit readily available covers. I made this one from maple and cherry and used my router for the first time! (Thankfully, some practice cuts on a spare top helped me start to understand my latest wood toy).
Serving Tray
Cherry tray is reversible and the handle attaching hardware is hidden.
Scan Mod Headboards and Side Tables
I combined elements from various ready-made products and do-it-yourself videos to create my own Scan Mod-inspired cherry headboards and side tables.
Open Storage Box
The walnut and cherry wood box is designed to hold several key chains and phones.
Outdoor Benches
I made the cedar and hemlock bench first, and then fine-tuned my design for the second, all-cedar bench.
Embroidered Pillows
The first pillow is of the Seattle skyline with a Kraken emerging from the Puget Sound. The second pillow features one of my favorite animals, a bear, and the third is Luka on a pillow.
